I have seldom been so amazed and honored to enjoy the unfettered enthusiasm which has exuded from the interns this week.  Caitlin, Taylor, Walt, and Katie are now heading for two weeks up into the mountain-top villages of the Baining to continue their work on the Heritable Innovation Trust.  This historic effort has been warmly received by the elders of the communities and has created a sense of hope for an integral future in which time, wealth, and resource stewardship can be redefined and reclaimed.  They will be hand-writing posts to send down with the Thursday cardamom sacks so the next message will smell quite nice!

To the parents of the interns, you all should  be aware that your son and daughters have been the finest ambassadors I’ve had the honor to accompany.  From meetings with Governors, to Ministers, to Elders, to Communities, to each wonderful member of the East New Britain population, they have been gracious and generous.   Their next message will come off the mountain on Thursday when the cardamom spices are sent down for processing.  I can assure you that the scent of the message will be only surpassed by the life and enthusiasm it contains!  Make sure you read past the pictures to the “older posts” to see their most recent post written before they began the hike to Komgi.
